Our Story

Crafted with Fire & Heart

Ember & Burl was born from a simple belief: that the most beautiful things are made by hand, with patience, and from materials that have a story to tell.

Based in Swedesboro, New Jersey, we started in a small garage workshop with a lathe, a love for woodworking, and a vision to create pieces that people would treasure for a lifetime.

Every burl, every grain pattern, every ring of growth in the wood is a record of nature's artistry. Our job is to reveal it, shape it, and pass it on to you.

The Process

From raw wood to finished piece

01

Select the Wood

Every piece begins with choosing the right material. We source premium burls, reclaimed timber, and sustainably harvested hardwoods for their unique character.

02

Shape & Design

Using a mix of traditional hand tools and modern equipment, we carefully shape each piece, honoring the natural grain and form of the wood.

03

Finish & Seal

Multiple rounds of sanding, finishing, and sealing ensure every piece is smooth to the touch and protected for years of use.

04

Deliver to You

Each piece is carefully packaged and shipped to your door, ready to be cherished as a unique work of art.

What We Stand For

The principles behind every piece

Quality Over Quantity

We don't mass produce. Every piece gets our full attention, from material selection to the final coat of finish.

Sustainable Sourcing

We prioritize reclaimed wood and sustainably harvested materials whenever possible, giving new life to old wood.

Built to Last

Our finishes and construction methods are chosen for durability. These pieces are meant to be used, loved, and passed down.
